If you want quiet time to connect and reflect or get some intellectual stimulation it is all here! Everyone, of all sexual orientations and gender identifications, are invited to attend any and all of the events. Thunder Pride is an annual community week long celebration of LGBTQ+ and diversity rights held in Northwestern Ontario. Our goals are to 1.) celebrate the history, courage, diversity and future of Thunder Bay's LBGTQ community as well as the region and 2.) provide support, encouragement and education. We work with community groups, academic and other organizations to develop programming, initiatives and events dedicated to reducing homophobia- during Thunder Pride week and throughout the year.
Thunder Pride 2017 would not be possible without the amazing support of many local businesses, organizations, churches and individuals. We thank our sponsors and advertisers for helping to make Thunder Pride 2017 a reality! There is a tremendous amount of work that goes into making this week full of fun possible. To the members of the Thunder Pride Association, all sub-committees, and volunteers a huge thank you for your hard work and time, we could not have pulled this off without you. Please come and join us, show your Pride!
NorWest Community Health Centres is proud to be a sponsor of the event and a subcommittee member. NorWest will be a participant at Pride in the Park Music Festival where we will be providing information about our services and supports, giving out health and wellness information, and answering questions. Look for the white and blue tent! LQBTQ+ clients are a priority at NorWest. To learn more about our specific services and supports at NorWest please phone Jodi at 626-7856.
