NorWest Community Health Centres offers breastfeeding and lactation support to registered clients. Breastfeeding is natural and important for mothers, babies, and their communities, but can take a little time for moms and babies to learn. Pregnancy is a great time to talk to your health care provider or meet with our lactation consultant to ask questions and discuss concerns you may have.
Lactation Consultants Can Offer
- One to one breastfeeding support services to clients rostered to the centre
- Accurate, up to date, and accessible information about best practice,
- Evidence-based care
- Education to pregnant women, new mothers, family members and support persons about breastfeeding
