One of a network of over 75 provincial community health centres, the NorWest Community Health Centres is a community based, non-profit organization funded by the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care and the North West Local Health Integration Network, emphasizing access to primary health care and prevention programs and services.
We are currently seeking a Rapid Access Addictions Medicine Clinic Coordinator, who as a valuable member of the Community Health Centre team is charged with is responsible for providing leadership and guidance to the local RAAM Clinics, team and partner providers, including St. Joseph’s Care Group, Thunder Bay Counselling, Dilico Anishinabek Family Care, People Advocating for Change through Empowerment.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Degree in clinical-related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience relevant to the position
- Minimum of three years management and leadership experience
- Extensive knowledge of addictions, harm reduction, mental health and health complexities related to such
- Knowledge of and experience with individuals experiencing health disparities; vulnerable populations and First Nations
- Leadership experience with the ability to manage complex projects involving multiple agencies, budgets and stakeholders
- Knowledge and/or experience of RAAM services and service delivery models (i.e. regional, provincial and national policy/funding issues)
- Demonstrated knowledge of community resources and community needs
- Experience developing, implementing and sustaining network/partnerships
- Program and financial management experience
- Demonstrated capacity to lead program evaluation
- Knowledge of quality improvement principles and practices
- Ability to communicate effectively and concisely, both orally and in writing
- Strong decision-making, conflict resolution, mediation and negotiation skills
- Ability to work independently, utilizing discretion and sound judgment
- Proficiency with office computer equipment and software, including Electronic Medical Records, PS Suites, Meditech, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint
- Must have a valid driver’s license, access to a vehicle and ability to travel to multiple work locations
