Virtual Care Clinic

The NorWest Community Health Centre North West Region Virtual Care Clinic is a Nurse Practitioner-led service designed for patients in the diverse region from Thunder Bay to Fort Severn and Kenora to White River. It caters to individuals with minor health issues who do not have a primary care provider or need timely access to care. Patients can register for an appointment 7 days a week between 12:00 PM ET and 8:00 PM ET through the website www.nwvirtualcare.ca, by calling 1-800-409-3484, or by visiting the Norwest CHC Walk-in. The clinic offers remote consultations, treatments, and referrals, making healthcare more accessible and convenient across Northwest Ontario.
Not Appropriate for Virtual Care
  • Chest pain 
  • Sudden and severe difficulty breathing 
  • Sudden and severe decline or loss of vision/hearing 
  • Sudden extreme weakness or numbness 
  • Severe abdominal pain 
  • Refill for controlled substances (such as narcotics, opoids, stimulants, sedatives) 
  • Reduced level of consciousness  
  • Baby with fever more than 3 days

  • Urinary tract infection 
  • Sinus infection 
  • Sore throat  
  • Stomach ache 
  • Mild-Moderate headache 
  • Minor skin problems such as rash  
  • Sexual health 
  • Prescription refill  
  • Conditions monitored with home devices and/or lab tests  
  • Review of test results
