On July 17 to 21 NorWest Community Health Centres collaborated with former CBC journalists Ashley Wright and Carmen Klassen along with the Multicultural Youth Centre to host a week long journalism camp. NorWest Community Health Centres was thrilled to have this initiative and collaboration with our community partners at Multicultural Youth Centre.

The camp was open to all youth and provide them with the opportunity to learn; communication, video editing using iMovie and journalism skills. At the end of the week a total of 10 videos were completed by the participants. This journalism program was a great opportunity to connect intergenerational clients and bridge the gap of generations and technology. This program provided the opportunity to build a the capacity and understanding of technology while learning new skills that can be used in the future.

We hope that this program will continue to allow our Indigenous Youth to continue to take these communication and digital technology skills after this week
